Job Description
Business Execution and Performance: 30%
- Lead or mentor the team as they handle trade loans, bank guarantees, letters of credit (LC), and bills for collection on occasion by offering advice on transaction processing, including technical solutions, etc.
- Examine and approve trade transactions that have been scheduled in the FCC core banking system and SWIFT platform—Morongwa supplied:
- in accordance with the authorized draft (for LC) and client application request;
- signed and validated in accordance with the client’s request;
- successfully completed the Third Party Screening Portal (TPS) screening process;
- provided all required documentation in accordance with the specifications of the product;
- Before authorizing on FCC and/or Morongwa, make sure the customer’s account has enough balance to cover processing of transaction commission, associated charges, and/or cash cover (if applicable);
Innovation and Change: -10%
- As needed, assist the business with new trade finance product efforts, including process modifications from the UAT testing phases to implementation;
- Make recommendations to the line manager regarding process modifications and enhancements (if applicable) to boost the unit’s transaction processing efficiency;

Customer Service and Stakeholder Management: 30%
- Own and oversee the handling of Trade Operations complaints and inquiries, making sure they are documented and promptly and definitively resolved;
- Keep an eye on Service Level Agreements between the department and other Bank stakeholders to make sure that transactions proceed smoothly from the time they are received, evaluated for feasibility, and transmitted to the point at which the limit-marking request is marked for execution;
- Oversee team performance and make sure they fulfill or surpass service agreements (internal and external), assume accountability for overall service performance, and maintain accuracy levels;
- Make sure the team reconciles LC and Guarantee liability, cash cover and revenue, trade loan, and import and export bill volume reports every month. Send the completed reports to the unit team leader for approval before sharing them with other stakeholders.
Controls and Risk Management: 30%
- Make certain that all tasks and activities are completed in complete accordance with the most recent legal needs, NBC policies and procedures, and ABSA Group Standards;
- When managing import and export letters of credit, import and export bills for collection, trade loans, and bank guarantees, make sure that UCP 600, URC 522, URR, URDG758, Foreign Exchange Controls on payments, NBC operating procedure, and AML/KYC are followed.
- Recognize and control the role’s primary risk indicators, and promptly elevate any risk concerns;
- Make sure that the Group IT security policy and rules are followed when gaining access to the system;
- abide by operational risk and rigor in order to safeguard our employees, clients’ assets, and the company;
- respect for the assigned matrix when handling and processing transactions;
Education and Experience Required
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, banking, or a similar discipline;
- 6 years or more of technical experience
- Having management abilities would be beneficial.

Knowledge & Skills
- Strong familiarity with banking services and products;
- Knowledgeable with internal computer applications and operating systems;
- Strong familiarity with all trade goods;
- Understanding of the international regulations that control trade. include ISP 98, URC 522, URDG, and UCP600;
- A thorough understanding of the laws that apply, such as those pertaining to money laundering, sanctions screening, KYC, service standards, health and safety standards, etc.
