Consider the Plateau State University PLASU admission list, which is a list of names of applicants who have been granted temporary admission to the university in order to pursue a certain degree.
The admission list is categorized into two. They are;
- Merit admission list
- Non-merit admission list
What is Merit Admission List
The list of names belonging to candidates who have been granted admission on the basis of merit is known as the merit list! In other words, they run into Mark, the cutoff of their course! Typically, these are the ones who surpass their department’s cut off mark by an extremely large margin.
Consider an applicant who receives a 360 for a course where the passing mark is 245 in the example. Compared to a candidate who scores 255, the candidate has a far higher chance of being included on the merit list. Usually, this list is referred to as the First List!
What is Non-merit Admission List
The list of applicants whose names have been offered admission but who, in some way, managed to meet the general cutoff mark but not the cutoff mark for the course they selected during the admissions process is known as the Non-merit Admission List! Commonly, this list is referred to as the Second list.

How to check PLASU Admission List on JAMB CAPS 2024
The simple procedures listed below can be used to check your admission list on JAMB CAPS:
- Click on this link: https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/
- Enter your password and the email address you used to register for JAMB to log in.
- Once you’ve logged in successfully, find and click the CAPS (‘Check Admission Status’) tab by scrolling down.
- Regarding the Check Admission Status tab
- For the CAPS tab;
- Then, click on Admission status. There you can monitor your Admission status.
Keep in mind that as applications are processed, the Admission List will be released on the JAMB web in phases.
