Applicants are directed to do their applications online for both Postgraduate Degrees, Undergraduate Degrees and Non- Degree programmes direct to the University through our website www.saut.ac.tz.

Applicants for undergraduate degree programmes are strongly advised to consult first the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) Students Guidebook for more information regarding the programmes including entry requirements needed by the St. Augustine University of Tanzania.

Applicants for undergraduate non- degree programmes (Certificates and Diploma) are advised to go through our website and other provided information materials including brochures for programmes‟ entry requirements needed.

Applications for Non- Degree programmes are invited from June to September, applications for Bachelor Degree Programmes are invited from August to October and for Postgraduate Programmes are invited from February to November of the year for which admission is sought.

Candidates wishing to join the review courses for NBAA/NBMM or PSPTB Examinations must submit their applications to the respective departments at least three months before the courses begin in September and or January.

All new students must arrive for registration process as indicated in the joining instructions and University/TCU Almanac. Orientation program for new students shall be conducted during the second week of registration.

Students from countries other than Tanzania are expected to conform to all immigration formalities in their countries before they depart for Tanzania. They must also obtain a Residence Permit from the nearest Tanzania Embassy or High Commission upon their arrival. This should be done at the earliest possible date. It is advisable when travelling to Tanzania that one keeps readily available his or her documents as well as evidence from SAUT to confirm that has been offered admission. One should also have details of financial support, in case these documents are required at the port of entry by the immigration authorities.

Entry Requirements for Admission

Minimum Entry Requirements for Admission into Higher Education Institutions; The SAUT minimum entry requirements set by TCU and NACTE to join HEIs are as follows:

  • For Form Six applicants who completed their A-Level studies before 2014 the minimum entry qualification is two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points;
  • For Form Six applicants who completed their A-Level studies from 2014 to 2015, their minimum entry qualification is two principal passes (Two C‟s) with a total of 4.0 points;
  • For Form Six applicants who completed their A-Level studies from 2016 the minimum entry qualification is two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points;

Registration Information

  • No student shall be allowed to register or attend classes unless the required fees have been paid. The required fees are payable in full at the beginning of the academic year or in four installments.
  • Fees paid will not be refunded if a student withdraws or leaves the University after registration.
  • If a student receives prior permission for the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to withdraw or to be away from the University, and provided that the application in writing to withdraw or to be away from the University is submitted within the first two weeks of the academic year or semester, fifty percent of the fees may be refunded.
  • New students must register within the specified period. For purposes of registration a new student must submit originals of documents they will submitted as credentials in support of his/her application for admission.
  • All the University Certificate, Diplomas, Degrees and any other University award shall be issued using the names which appear on the Certificate by which a student gains admission at the University. No change of names shall be allowed in academic testimonials and/or transcript unless such changes have first been effected in all testimonials and or transcript which were used to gain admission in the University.
