Position Overview
To supervise the construction site of a luxury lodge intended to draw in foreign visitors, we are looking for an experienced site quantity surveyor to join our team in Serengeti National Park. Ideally, this person will have expertise working on remote sites for high-end hospitality construction projects.
In addition to taking a proactive approach to assigned tasks, the site quantity surveyor’s function is essential in ensuring that the measuring and valuation of construction projects are completed in accordance with industry standards, standard practice, and predetermined restrictions. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to collaborate with others in a team with the primary objective of project financial success are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- In charge of all business affairs related to the contract and the project.
- Assume responsibility in order to optimize profits and help the company.
- Keep an eye on and manage the site’s material and labor costs.
- Give your approval for material acquisitions that fall within the permitted budget.
- Weekly predictions regarding anticipated expenses and margins in comparison to budgets are provided.
- Weekly reports covering Earned Value Management (EVM) are provided.
- Measurement of the primary contractor’s and subcontractors’ daily labor at the site.
- Receive and review monthly applications for interim payments from subcontractors.
- Submit applications for interim payment and do monthly valuations for completed work.
- Gather interim payment certificates from subcontractors and create payment records.
- Monthly reports covering Earned Value Management (EVM) should be provided.

Position Requirements;
- Building economics bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on the building industry.
- Over five years of building experience as a Site Qs, with an emphasis on profit maximization and cost management.
- A track record of effectively finishing projects on time, within budget, and with the best possible quality.
- Strong knowledge of the Quantity Surveyor Standard Practice.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and planning abilities.
- The capacity to fulfill deadlines.
- Will approach tasks with vigor, resilience, and self-motivation.
- Will be accountable and assume ownership of all areas of duty.
- Will be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Will be accustomed to working with a group of people from many different cultural backgrounds.
- Will always treat every team member with respect.
