Tanzania Health Promotion Support (THPS) is an indigenous nongovernmental organization (NGO) founded in 2011 under Nongovernmental Organization Act No. 24 of 2002. THPS collaborates with the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ministry of Community Development, older people, and special groups, the Regional Administration and Local Governments (PORALG), the Ministry of Health in Zanzibar, and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) to ensure that all Tanzanians have access to high-quality health care and social welfare services by strengthening health and community systems.
Open Position and Description
1. VMMC Program Officer
They will be responsible for overall coordination, capacity building, demand creation, and implementation of VMMC services in accordance with national and international VMMC standards and guidelines in order to achieve high target coverage in the Kigoma region.
Qualifications, experience, & skills required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent
- Have at least three years of experience working on VMMC-funded PEPFAR initiatives.
- Experience and a great track record of VMMC surgical abilities in both traditional and color compression device methods.
- Experience collaborating with local government officials, such as R/CHMTs, other stakeholders, and health institutions.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage numerous areas of a program, including planning, executing, and monitoring program activities.
- Experience managing program budgets, making optimal use of resources, and maintaining financial responsibility.
2. Subgrant Officer
To concentrate on all problems concerning sub-awardees’ effective administration of THPS funds, as well as to monitor the financial and administrative systems to ensure correct usage of such funds. S/He will collaborate with Pwani subgrantees and other THPS subgrantees to increase their ability for compliance and efficiency in donor money management, including timely reporting. Under the direction of the Subs Grants Manager, s/he will organize and oversee the subs budgeting process and offer continuing support.
Qualifications required:
- Degree or Masters in Accounting, Finance, and Project Management
- CPA/ACCA is an additional benefit.
- Working with local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and R/CHMTs.
- Donor funding management and reporting requirements, including US government funding
- Experience in auditing is also advantageous.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Director
The MEL Manager is a full-time important people job that will be in charge of coordinating the creation of a performance management strategy. Tools and matrices, including performance-monitoring criteria, to ensure ongoing monitoring of activity progress. Primary tasks include planning and managing data collection and analysis, as well as evaluating and reporting activity outcomes to key stakeholders.
- Design and execute a complete M&E framework for the program, including the creation of a MEL strategy, Theory of Change, Quality Assurance Surveillance strategy, Learning Agenda, and so on.
4. Chief of Party
The COP will collaborate with technical staff to create and execute individual staff action plans in accordance with the approved work plan and budget for the project year, as well as manage the work plan and activity budgets to accomplish project goals.
- Balances the interests of many stakeholders and promotes participatory governance via cross-sectoral collaboration.
5. Capacity and Coordination Director
- Foster a consortium culture by advancing procedures, concepts, and tools that prioritize local leadership and decision-making while also strengthening local SBC technical and organizational capability in response to local needs and goals. Technical competence encompasses SBC design, formative research, route monitoring, learning and adaptation, and intervention design. Governance, finance, management, human resources, and transition award preparation are all examples of organizational capability.
