Comprehensive Community-Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the preferred provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa. It serves as a healthcare social enterprise and through development programs in the community and the most vulnerable.
Leaders committed to the organization’s objective and vision from both the profit and non-profit sectors make up the CCBRT Board of Directors. Board members advocate for outstanding board leadership because they think that for any organization to reach its full potential for good, it needs a strong and capable board. Our board members are actively involved in discovering and acquiring the financial resources and relationships required for CCBRT to further its goal, in addition to their usual tasks and responsibilities. They also serve as ambassadors and advocates for the organization.
For someone who is enthusiastic about enhancing governance and leadership in the nonprofit sector, serving on the CCBRT Board of Directors is a unique opportunity.
The Role:
The following are among the expectations for the CCBRT Board of Directors:
- Attend four board meetings annually, read the board materials before the meeting, and be ready to contribute to discussions and ask questions.
- Possess the financial knowledge necessary to read and comprehend CCBRT’s financial statements and assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary duties.
- Participate actively in committee work while serving on one or more board committees.
- Participate actively in obtaining the funding required for CCBRT to fulfill its objective.
- Utilize personal contacts and ties to assist the management team and resource mobilization department in locating and approaching possible funders.
- Whenever feasible, contribute personally to CCBRT’s efforts in order to directly support its mission.
- Represent CCBRT in their communities in a responsible manner and, where necessary, promote the organization’s goals, initiatives, and services.
The selection of board members is based on personal qualifications rather than their representation of their areas. Members of the board may serve for a maximum of two consecutive terms, each lasting five (5) years.
The CCBRT Board of Directors is now seeking one more leader with experience in the following fields in order to bolster the current board and expand its size:
- In order to mobilize the resources required to fulfill its objective, CCBRT is looking for a well-connected leader who is enthusiastic about the organization and can use their networks both inside and internationally.
- The ideal board candidate or candidates should have formal board training or previous board experience.
- The diaspora, foreign nationals, and members of local communities are all encouraged to apply.
