Job description:
We are seeking a full-time Customs Liaison Assistant to join our team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the organization and ensuring customs procedures are adhered to by customers who stored products in company Customs Bonded warehousing. Assisting on in-house customs clearance and documentation for local and transit.
Qualifications and experience:
- Advanced Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in logistics management and Customs related field.
- Possess East Africa Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding Practice Certificate.
- Proficient on TANCIS / Single window system and East Africa Community Customs Management Act.
- Knowledgeable on single customs territory customs clearance procedures and processes.
- The job holder must be computer literate.
- A minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role.
Principal activities:
1) Assist on customs-related matters for Gantry operations.
2) Make sure follow-up on customs-related queries is attended on time.
3) Follow up on transit/transshipment and customs documentation for customers who have products
stored within company.
4) Assisting in scrutinizing the correctness of customs documentations for customers loading at Gantry
facility.
5) Support on smooth transit loadings by expediting customers to complete documentations in a
timely manner, evacuation of loaded trucks as per customs procedures.
6) Assisting follow-up on the expiration date for the trucks licensed to consign goods under customs control.
